Rising youngsters Zach Veach and Spencer Pigot have secured full-time IndyCar seats in 2018 with Andretti Autosport and Ed Carpenter Racing respectively.
Veach, 22, will replace Takuma Sato in the No. 26 car, completing an all-American line-up at Andretti, alongside Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi.
Veach made his IndyCar debut for ECR at Barber, as a replacement for the injured J.R. Hildebrand, and competed at the Indy 500 with Foyt.
Veach has raced for Andretti at each step of the junior ladder, having competed in US F2000, Star Mazda, and Indy Lights with the operation.
Pigot, meanwhile, will move across to ECR’s No. 21 car for 2018, in place of Hildebrand, and contest each event.
Pigot currently pilots the squad’s No. 20 car on road and street course events, with team boss Carpenter taking over the reins on oval circuits.
Pigot made his IndyCar bow in 2016 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing as part of his three-race scholarship for winning the previous year’s Indy Lights title.
The American then moved across to ECR mid-2016, where he has remained since, aside from a one-event deal with new team Juncos to contest this year’s Indy 500.
