Porsche continued to set the pace at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez, as the German manufacturer once again swept the top two places during second practice for the 6 Hours of Mexico.

Brendon Hartley submitted the quickest time behind the wheel of the #2 919 Hybrid, which the New Zealander shares with Timo Bernhard and Earl Bamber.

Hartley's 1:25.007s effort pipped Nick Tandy in the sister Porsche by half a second, whilst beating Friday's best by two seconds.

For the second session in a row, the pair of Toyota TS050 Hybrids struggled for performance.

Jose Maria Lopez registered the fastest lap for the Japanese constructor, although that was 1.674 seconds shy of the leading Porsche.

In LMP2, Ho-Pin Tung led the way for the championship-leading Jackie Chan DC Racing squad.

Tung's time of 1:33.390s aboard the #37 ORECA-Gibson put the Jota Sport-run outfit three tenths up on G-Drive Racing's Alex Lynn.

With three victories from the opening four races, Tung, Oliver Jarvis and Thomas Laurent currently lead the class by 46 points over Vaillante Rebellion drivers Julien Canal and Bruno Senna, who lapped third in FP2.

Fastest lap in GTE-Pro went the way of Aston Martin, as the pair of V8 Vantages swept the top two positions.

The British marque settled for second in GTE-Am, however, as the Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche led for the second session in a row.

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Mexico is scheduled for later today (Saturday, August 2nd) at 17:50 local time (23:50 UK).
