Valentino Rossi has been hospitalised following a training accident on Thursday, with Italian media reports suggesting he has suffered a broken leg.
The Italian rider's Yamaha team confirmed he had been taken to the Ospedale Civile di Urbino for a check-up, having been involved in an enduro motocross accident near his hometown in northeastern Italy.
Yamaha hasn't confirmed the extent of the 38-year-old's injuries, if any, but initial media reports suggest a fractured tibia and fibula.
The team added that it will provide further updates "in due course."
Earlier this year, Rossi was involved in a motocross training crash in which he sustained injuries to his stomach and chest, but did not miss any events.
