Andretti has extended its engine partnership with Honda as part of a new “multi-year agreement”, the team has announced.
Since Andretti and Honda joined forces in IndyCar, the partnership has taken three series titles and five victories at the Indianapolis 500.
Of the team’s 56 IndyCar wins, 47 of those have been scored with Honda power, and the tie-up will continue from 2018 onwards with the new deal.
“It’s no secret that we’ve been weighing this decision for a while now,” said Andretti CEO Michael Andretti.
“We’ve had strong relationships and have marked milestones with both manufacturers, but we’re pleased to continue our Honda partnership.
“We have a great history of success with Honda and I have no doubt that together, our collection of achievements will continue to grow.”
Ryan Hunter-Reay and Marco Andretti are under contract and remain at the Andretti outfit for the 2018 IndyCar season.
Andretti says confirmation of the team’s remaining drivers will be arriving “in the coming weeks”.
