Esteban Ocon says team will move on from Belgian drama

Esteban Ocon says he, team-mate Sergio Perez and the Force India squad will move on from Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix drama after some heated words were shared post-race.

Ocon accused Sergio Pérez of "trying to kill him" after the pair made contact twice during the race, the latter of which cost them several points as Ocon had to pit for a new front-wing and Pérez new tyres following a puncture.

Pérez apologised for the first incident, but claims the latter wasn't his fault and rubbished Ocon's claims that he was intentionally dangerous.

The Frenchman says he has accepted that apology and will move on from the drama, admitting his comments were made in the "heat of the moment".

"In the heat of the moment and given the dangerous situation, I was very much upset," wrote the 21-year-old. "But we will be moving forward, we are a team and I appreciate my team-mate apologising.

"We want to work better together. I'm committed to the success of Sahara Force India, and I'm confident that as a team we will put this behind us to reach even greater levels of success together.

"We have a big challenge ahead with keeping fourth place [in the Constructors' Championship] and nothing will distract us from that goal."
