There has always been something magical about these 7km of asphalt deep in the heart of the Ardennes Forest, known to race fans as Spa Francorchamps or just plain Spa. This track sits near the top of most Formula 1 fans' bucket lists and after this past weekend of thrills and excitement, its stock can only go up!
Along with the thousands of British and tens of thousands of Dutch fans, MOTORSPORT MONDAY'S Joe Saward, James Moy, Graham Harris, Phil Horton and Victoria McGee all make their annual trek to Spa this weekend to witness Lewis Hamilton putting on a brilliant display of Formula 1 driving that thrilled the sell-out crowd of more than 100,000! Races like this will help bring back the missing fans!
Then across the pond at Gateway Motorsports Park in Illinois, championship leader Josef Newgarden took another Verizon IndyCar win on Saturday night but this time he almost left his winning pass until too late. Read Andy Young's report on the race and how it unfolded.
Also inside the magazine this week, Rallies Editor Jerry Williams delivers some rather stern warnings to Citroën boss Yves Matton about how he should be treating his star driver Kris Meeke. Meanwhile back in the office, Jack Leslie was glued to his TV screen to 'road test' the latest version of the F1 Game. Read his views and opinion and see how high he rated the new edition!
