Nyck de Vries and Louis Deletraz will switch teams for the rest of the 2017 Formula 2 season, it has been announced ahead of this weekend’s round at Spa.
McLaren junior de Vries has competed for Rapax in the first seven rounds of the season, currently holding eighth in the drivers’ standings.
Meanwhile Deletraz is down in 19th place in the championship after scoring just one point so far for Racing Engineering.
De Vries moves over to Racing Engineering to drive the No.3 car, while Deletraz jumps across to Rapax in the No.18 machine.
“Perhaps this move is a surprise in the middle of the season, but I am very excited to join Racing Engineering from Spa onwards,” said de Vries.
“We have been in touch since 2015 and it is great to finally get the chance to work together as they have a very high level of professionalism and a great track record.
“I hope we will be able to turn around their momentum and score the successes they have always had.”
Deletraz will be partnered by former F1 driver Roberto Merhi this weekend in Belgium, who fills in for Sergio Canamasas.
