Aspar has confirmed that it will retain Karel Abraham alongside Álvaro Bautista in MotoGP next season, completing an unchanged line-up for the outfit.
Abraham returned to MotoGP with Aspar this season and holds 17th position in the standings, having taken a best of seventh in the Netherlands, as well as a front-row grid spot in Argentina.
Aspar’s confirmation of Abraham means the Ducati satellite squad will field an unchanged pairing into 2018, leaving only Marc VDS and Avintia with vacancies.
“I am very happy to have re-signed with Aspar and to continue with the same group of people is very important to me,” said Abraham.
“I am already looking forward to a new challenge next season but right now I need to concentrate on the rest of this season, which is the most important.
“As I said, I am very happy, but we have to focus on the here and now.”
Abraham previous competed in the premier class between 2012 and 2015 for his family-run AB Motoracing operation.
