Renault F1 junior Jack Aitken led an ART Grand Prix 1-2-3 in a slightly shortened GP3 qualifying session at the Hungaroring.
His team-mates Nirei Fukuzumi, George Russell and Anthoine Hubert each spent stints at the top of the timesheets earlier in the session.
However, in the final minutes, Aitken stormed to the top with a 1:31.754 before the session was red flagged after Arjun Maini stopped his Jenzer on track.
The Haas F1 junior suffered an issue and parked his car on the main straight and after the red flag, it emerged that the session would not be restarted – with just under two minutes remaining on the clock.
As a result, Aitken secured his second pole position of the season, picking up the extra four points, just one tenth clear of championship leader Russell.
Fukuzumi claimed third place on the grid for ART, ahead of Trident’s Dorian Boccolacci, who jumped up several spots with a late flying lap.
Hubert was only fifth in the last ART car, ahead of Silverstone race two winner Giuliano Alesi, Arden’s Niki Kari and Trident’s Kevin Joerg.
Alessio Lorandi and Tatiana Calderon rounded out the top 10 in qualifying, while Maini finished in 13th after bringing the session to an early end.
