The #24 CEFC Manor TRS Racing LMP2 car will observe a seven-minute stop and go penalty during Sunday's World Endurance Championship contest at the Nurburgring, following an illegal overtake in free practice.
Jonathan Hirschi was driving the Manor ORECA when he overtook Olivier Pla's Ford GT whilst the red flags were out for an incident involving a German photographer.
The photographer was situated in an illegal 'red zone' at Ford corner, prompting a stoppage that affected the entire circuit.
According to a stewards' report Hirschi failed to slow down sufficiently, before colliding with Pla and spinning.
"The stewards considered that this incident was a serious fault from driver of car number 24," the report stated.
"His explanations to check his speed limiter are not excusing his behaviour."
Additionally, the car will be required to take a further seven-minute stop and go penalty if it is found guilty of causing any red flag event during the next three races, which are held in the United States, Mexico and Japan.
Hirschi is joined at the Nurburgring by regular Manor team-mate Tor Graves, and Roberto Merhi who is filling in for the Formula E-bound Jean-Eric Vergne.
