Honda-backed youngster Tadasuke Makino is set to miss the next two rounds of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship after breaking his wrist in a crash at the Norisring.
Makino, 20, sustained the injury in the third race at the street circuit, in which he collided with Van Amersfoort rival Harrison Newey.
Hitech confirmed that Makino will be out of action for eight to 10 weeks, leaving him sidelined from the next rounds at Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort.
The time frame also brings into doubt Makino’s participation at the Nürburgring round, scheduled for 9/10 September.
Makino currently holds 17th place in the standings in his rookie campaign, having scored 10 points.
