David Beckmann has been confirmed at Motopark for the remainder of the 2017 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season.
Beckmann split with Van Amersfoort Racing “by mutual consent” after just three rounds of this year’s European F3 season, but has now joined a new team.
The German driver moved up to the category last year, driving for Mucke Motorsport, and had to miss the opening two race weekends due to his age.
He finished 15th overall after scoring two podiums, before the 17-year-old switched to Van Amersfoort for 2017.
However, Beckmann has failed to score a point after nine races and is currently 18th in the standings, out of 19 drivers.
Following his departure from Van Amersfoort, Beckmann has now joined the Motopark outfit for the remainder of the season.
“I am confident about the rest of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and I am sure that Motopark will offer me a competitive package,” he said.
“Everybody in the team is extremely motivated and focussed on success. I am optimistic that we will achieve good results together after the necessary period of familiarisation.”
