Audi has officially announced its team and driver line-ups for the up-coming 2017 DTM season.
With DTM manufacturers dropping from eight to six cars each, Audi’s rivals Mercedes and BMW have dropped several of their teams.
Mercedes teams ART and Mücke have ceased their involvement in DTM for 2017, with BMW losing Schnitzer and MTEK.
But Audi has retained all three of its teams for the new year, opting to downsize its Abt squad for 2017.
Two-time champion Mattias Ekström has been joined by Nico Müller at the Abt team, the latter switching over from Team Rosberg.
Team Phoenix retains Mike Rockenfeller, with former WEC driver Loïc Duval moving over to DTM in in place of Timo Scheider.
René Rast will race for Team Rosberg, taking the place of Adrien Tambay, and will partner Jamie Green.
The new 2017 DTM season gets underway from the 6-7 May at the Hockenheimring, the first of nine race weekends on this year’s calendar.
