Andre Lotterer enjoyed his first test as a Porsche factory driver behind the wheel of its 919 Hybrid LMP1 car at Motorland Aragon on Tuesday.

Three-time Le Mans winner Lotterer sought refuge at Porsche for 2017 after Audi ended its endurance programme at the end of the 2016 season.

2012 champion Lotterer will race the entire FIA World Endurance Championship campaign with Porsche behind the wheel of the #1 919 Hybrid in 2017, teaming up with Nick Tandy and Neel Jani, both Le Mans winners in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Lotterer enjoyed his first test with Porsche at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain, as confirmed by the German marque via its official Twitter account on Tuesday.

Lotterer is the only member of the 2016 Audi LMP1 line-up to have secured a new WEC seat ahead of the forthcoming season, with long-running teammates Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler both continuing to evalute their options.

From the second Audi entry, Lucas di Grassi is understood to be focusing chiefly on his commitments in Formula E, while Loic Duval has moved into DTM a factory driver. Oliver Jarvis is yet to firm up any plans for 2017, but is thought to be chasing an LMP2 seat to remain in the WEC.
