Chip Ganassi Racing has announced that it will switch from Chevrolet to Honda power for the 2017 IndyCar season.

The team last raced with Honda engines in 2013, before moving to Chevrolet for the next three IndyCar seasons.

Chip Ganassi won four CART titles with Honda between 1996 and 1999, before adding four more to their tally in the IndyCar series from 2008 to 2011.

Most recently, the team won the championship with Scott Dixon in 2013, before making the move to Chevrolet power.

“We’ve had a long and successful relationship with Honda over the years and we look forward to getting it back on track,” said team owner Chip Ganassi.

“I feel a little like I am going home after having previously spent 12 years with them. Much of our organization’s success has been with Honda power in our cars, so we are all very excited.”

The team ran Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Charlie Kimball and Max Chilton this season, with all four looking set to remain Ganassi.
