MotoGP has announced an extension of the Motorland Aragon circuit’s contract, meaning it will host the Aragon Grand Prix until at least 2021.
The race will remain on the calendar for the next five years, after a new contract was signed after this weekend’s Aragon GP press conference.
The Spanish track will host the 14th round of the 2016 MotoGP season this weekend, as the race for the title heats up.
Motorland Aragon joined the MotoGP calendar for the 2010 season, shortly after the track was opened.
It’s the latest venue to confirm a contract extension with MotoGP, after Valencia’s deal was extended to 2021 earlier this week.
The provisional 2017 MotoGP schedule was recently confirmed and will see the Aragon Grand Prix take place from the 22-24 September.
Shortly after the new contract was announced, Aragon was named the winner of the best grand prix for 2015 – the third time in six years.
