Max Verstappen doesn't believe he was too aggressive in his defence against Kimi Raikkonen during the Belgian Grand Prix, despite the Ferrari drivers complaints over team radio.
The pair made contact at the first corner on the opening lap, causing a puncture for Raikkonen and damaging Verstappen's front-wing and then later in the race came close to contact in two more occasions as they battled for position.
Raikkonen complained over team radio that Verstappen's defence was too aggressive as he switched positions at the last moment.
"Come on this is f***ing ridiculous. He's f***ing moving all over the road," said the Finn, before later adding: "His only interest is pushing me off the circuit."
The Red Bull driver brushed the criticism aside, claiming it's not his problem.
"It's a big lie. I mean it’s ridiculous. But it’s good television if somebody’s moaning. Especially after turn one where they do something to you like that. I’m not going to give up my position to them that easily afterwards.
"I’m just defending my position. If somebody doesn’t like it, it’s his problem."
Raikkonen says he was lucky to avoid a "big accident" as he was forced to back off when Verstappen blocked him on the long Kemmel straight.
"I'm all up for a fair battle and close racing but when I have to back off after Eau Rouge on the straight when I'd already made my move, I have to brake not to hit him because he turned after my move. That's not correct. There could have been a big accident.
"If I have to brake from full speed, I've never had that with another driver, if I didn't brake I would have hit him at full speed in the rear because I was at full throttle so obviously something is not correct."
