Final starting grid for the Belgian Grand Prix

The FIA has confirmed the final starting grid for the Belgian Grand Prix, which will see a Mercedes on the first and last row after Nico Rosberg secured pole position narrowly from Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen, whilst Lewis Hamilton's various penalties – a total of 55 places – see him start 21st.

Hamilton lines up alongside McLaren's Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard was forced to take another engine on Saturday after Honda admitted they made a "mistake" by sending him out during qualifying, despite noticing a problem with his oil pressure.

A further two penalties have changed the grid slightly, with Sauber's Marcus Ericsson serving a ten-place drop for an engine change, whilst Haas' Esteban Gutierrez was penalised for blocking Pascal Wehrlein during final practice on Saturday morning, a penalty team boss Guenther Steiner described as "very unfair".
