Antonio Felix da Costa has joined MS Amlin Andretti ahead of the third Formula E season, partnering Robin Frijns.
Da Costa has raced in Formula E since its inception in 2014 with Team Aguri, taking a memorable victory in Buenos Aires in 2015.
The Portuguese racer joined the team again for season two and took some impressive results despite racing with season one powertrain technology, including pole in Long Beach before being excluded over a tyre pressure infringement.
Da Costa confirmed over the London ePrix weekend that he would be leaving Team Aguri at the end of the season, with the outfit rebranded as Techeetah and signing Jean-Eric Vergne and Ma Qinghua for the new campaign.
After undertaking private testing for Andretti using its season three powertrain, da Costa was formally announced on Wednesday as being its second driver alongside Frijns.
"To join Andretti Formula E is a big thing for me. I have always loved the way Americans go racing, and how they do sports in general," da Costa said.
"I’m a big fan of IndyCar and, to me, Andretti Autosport has always been an iconic team. To finally be able to say that I’m joining and racing for this amazing team and family is a big deal.
"We have a great team in place, the MS Amlin car looks good and the people around me are super professional. I’m ready to get the season started."
Da Costa's arrival leaves Simona de Silvestro without a seat, although her departure was expected after a difficult season that saw her score just two points finishes. It is not yet clear whether she will remain part of the Andretti Autosport setup.
