Sebastian Vettel has denied he is unhappy at Ferrari after former boss Christian Horner suggested the German was looking to switch to Mercedes in 2018, because he isn't happy with the progress Ferrari are making.
Horner made the comments earlier this week but later dismissed them as a "joke", however they had already done the rounds and they were put to Vettel on Friday in Hungary.
Vettel insists it isn't true and he is "quite happy at Ferrari" despite the unsatisfactory performance this season so far.
"Ah, that’s really incredible that he knows all these things without having spoken to me!" Vettel told the official Formula 1 website when told of the comments.
"In the end there are so many whispers and talk in the paddock – and that is good. A whole profession lives from rumours and blowing them up!
"But let me tell you: there is nothing to it. I am pretty happy where I am," he added.
"I don’t think I’m telling a secret when I say that all at Ferrari are not satisfied with how the 2016 season has started. Our goals are still high – nothing has changed in that. We are all determined to bring Ferrari back to where it belongs: up there on the podium."
Speaking about Friday's running, Vettel is confident they've found a good set-up for the weekend following a tricky practice session.
"We lost a bit of time at the beginning as the red flag was not ideal – and we had to come in a couple of times to re-program the car. And the good news is that we’ve been able to fix it. But it ruined a bit the rhythm.
"The car felt fine, so we have been able to find a good set-up for tomorrow."
