Felix Rosenqvist will enjoy his first IndyCar test later this week at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with Chip Ganassi Racing.
Rosenqvist, 24, won the FIA European Formula 3 Championship last year at the fourth attempt before making the move to the American Indy Lights series for 2016.
Rosenqvist won his second Indy Lights race in St. Petersburg before sweeping the Toronto weekend with two victories, leaving him seventh in the championship standings.
On Tuesday, Chip Ganassi Racing confirmed that Rosenqvist would take part in the upcoming rookie test at Mid-Ohio, due to also be attended by Formula E driver Robin Frijns.
"This is an incredible opportunity for me," Rosenqvist said.
"The Verizon IndyCar Series is the biggest and fastest racing series in America, and it’s every driver’s dream to be given a chance like this – and I intend to make the most of it.
"It’s especially thrilling to be doing this with Chip Ganassi Racing, a top team steeped in history that I grew up following on TV. Hopefully I can do a solid job and I’m sure this will be a truly unique experience."
