Sebastien Buemi took a clear victory at the Berlin ePrix, picking up his sixth victory in the all-electric Formula E series.
The Swiss driver started from second on the grid and battled in the early stages with polesitter Jean-Eric Vergne, before hitting the front with a daring move at Turn 5.
A late safety car saw Buemi lose his advantage but he retained first place during the two-lap dash to the chequered flag to win in Germany.
Daniel Abt followed him crossed the line, 1.7 seconds further back. He picked up his best result in Formula E, but he could have finished in third place.
He attempted to let his team-mate Lucas di Grassi through on the penultimate lap, to aid the Brazilian’s championship challenge. However, he remained third, meaning just one point separates di Grassi and Buemi going into the final double-header round in London.
Di Grassi battled his way up from eighth on the grid t claim third, with Nicolas Prost finishing fourth. Vergne dropped to fifth after losing his front-wing mid-way through the race.
Robin Frijns moved up to sixth, ahead of Nick Heidfeld and Mike Conway. Simona de Silvestro scored more points with ninth and Stephane Sarrazin was 10th.
Sam Bird had to make an unscheduled stop for a front wing change and fell to 11th, ahead of Oliver Turvey and Nelson Piquet Jr. in the two NEXTEV TCR cars.
Ma Qing Hua, Bruno Senna, Jerome d’Ambrosio and rookie Rene Rast rounded out the finishers. Loic Duval crashed out, causing the late safety car.
