ART clean sweep as Alexander Albon takes Barcelona race two victory

Alexander Albon made it two wins from two for ART Grand Prix after taking victory in Race Two, the day after team-mate Charles Leclerc secured victory in the opening race of the season on Saturday.

Albon made a perfect start from the second row and produced a stunning overtake on the outside of reverse pole-sitter Oscar Tunjo at Turn 1 to claim the lead, whilst Trident and Ferrari Driver Academy’s Antonio Fuoco gained two places at the start, whilst Nyck De Vries jumped up four places to jump into the top five.

Leclerc dropped a few places at the start of the race, but fought back into ninth by the end of the opening lap. The Monegasque rookie was behind the DAMS duo of Kevin Jorg and Jake Hughes as they enjoyed a race long tussle for the final points on offer.

With Albon leading Jenzer Motorsport's Tunjo, a scrap developed for the final podium spot as Arden's Jake Dennis looked ready to attack Fuoco in the final laps; however the Italian was able to hold the Brit at bay until the chequered flag.
