Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo set the pace in Friday’s two French Grand Prix practice sessions at Le Mans.
Honda rider Pedrosa ended FP1 with a best time of 1:34.042, finishing just four hundredths clear of Lorenzo. His team-mate Marc Marquez was third.
Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso and Andre Iannone were fourth and sixth, with Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha between the two. Pol Espargo was seventh, ahead of Maverick Vinales, who was the highest placed Suzuki.
Loris Baz and Cal Crutchlow completed the top 10, despite the former falling at Turn 8 late in the session. Yonny Hernandez also crashed at the same bend earlier in FP1.
Lorenzo moved to the front of the pack in second practice later on Friday, putting in a 1:32.830 to end the session three tenths clear of Iannone.
Marquez was third, with the Espargo brothers of Pol and Aleix in fourth and sixth, split by Dovizioso. Pedrosa, Vinales, Hector Barbera and Valentino Rossi rounded out the top 10.
Crutchlow, Baz and Scott Redding all suffered falls during the session at Le Mans on Friday afternoon.
