DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird will start the inaugural Paris ePrix from pole position – his third of the season – after dominating the Super Pole shoot-out on Saturday afternoon.

The Britain was more than three-tenths clear of second-placed Lucas di Grassi who narrowly beat the second DS Virgin of Jean-Eric Vergne by just over half a tenth.

Stefan Sarrazin starts fourth for Venturi with Nicolas Prost completing the top five positions, more than a second adrift of Bird on his best Super Pole lap.

Robin Frijns was left disappointed after he missed out on Super Pole following Bird's late group qualifying flyer, leaving the Andretti racer sixth ahead of seventh-placed Oliver Turvey and Nelson Piquet Jr. in ninth, with the NextEV TCR drivers split by Sebastien Buemi.

Rounding off the top ten was Team Aguri's Antonio Felix da Costa whilst new boy Ma Qing Hua qualified P15 despite two near misses with the barriers during the session.

Second practice leader Mike Conway starts last but one after contact with Nick Heidfleld. The Britain was helpless as he hit Heidfeld, who just seconds before span into the barrier and rejoined just as Conway rounded Turn 11.
