Manor team principal John Booth believes that the debutant LMP2 outfit will be in good shape for the start of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship at Silverstone on April 17.
After resigning from the Manor Marussia Formula 1 Team at the end of 2015, Booth and long-time colleague Graeme Lowdon announced in February they would be entering the WEC for 2016 with a team in the LMP2 class.
The Manor WEC team got on-track for the first time at the collective Prologue test at Paul Ricard earlier this week, completing 242 laps with its Oreca 05 car.
"It was great to see the car run for the first time yesterday and I am really happy with the mileage that we have achieved," Booth said.
"We are now starting to really understand the car which should put us in good shape for Silverstone.
“This is the first time that this team have all worked together and they have done a great job."
Manor's driver line-up for 2016 includes Will Stevens, who raced for Booth in F1 last year, and former IndyCar driver James Jakes.
"It has been really nice to get to grips with an LMP2 car over the last few days," Stevens said.
"We have focused mainly on gathering data but we had an opportunity at the end to push a little more and I am very happy with where we have got to in such a short space of time.
"I am now looking forward to my home race at Silverstone."
Jakes added: "We have had a positive couple of days considering that we came here with a brand new car. We have managed to cover a lot of miles and completed most of our test plan.
"We now switch our focus to Silverstone which I am very excited about with it being my home race."
