Rene Rast has secured a full-time drive in a prototype with G-Drive for the 2016 World Endurance Championship.
Rast will contest the season behind the wheel of the Jota Sport-run G-Drive Oreca Nissan LMP2 alongside reigning LMP2 champion Roman Rusinov and Nathanael Berthon.
The Audi factory driver contested his first Le Mans last year but was left without a seat after the German manufacturer scaled back its Le Mans programme to just two cars.
Fellow Audi factory driver Filipe Albuquerque also joins the WEC LMP2 ranks after signing to race with RGR Sport by Morand.
Rast will get his first taste of the G-Drive Oreca at Spain's Aragon circuit next week.
