Arden International has announced Tatiana Calderon will race for the team in the 2016 GP3 season.
The Colombian is the third of Arden’s four drivers confirmed for the new GP3 season, joining Jake Dennis and Jack Aitken.
Calderon has spent the last three seasons racing in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. After a tough debut year with Double R Racing, she switched to Jo Zeller Racing for 2014 and enjoyed a more encouraging campaign.
She scored her first points in the series in the second race at Spa-Francorchamps, finishing fifth, and finished in the top 10 on seven further occasions. However, a move to Carlin last year failed to yield similar results.
The recently-crowned MRF Challenge Formula 2000 vice-champion tested in the GP3 series at the end-of-season test in Abu Dhabi last December.
"I’m really excited to be joining Arden for the 2016 GP3 series," she said. "It’s another step forward in my career. I know it’s going to be a challenging first year in the series but I know I´m in the right place surrounded by the right people to learn and make the most out of this amazing opportunity.
"Arden has been very successful in GP3; they know what it takes to be fighting up the front so I can’t wait to start working with them towards that goal."
Arden general manager Julian Rouse added: "It’s great to have Tatiana racing with us this season, she participated in the GP3 tests in Abu Dhabi and seemed to adapt to the GP3 car really well and set some very competitive lap times on performance runs.
"Coming off the back of a strong run to 2nd place in the MRF series over the winter, I’m sure her confidence will be high and it will be good to try and keep that momentum going."
