Jorge Lorenzo ended the first MotoGP pre-season test on top, lapping fastest on day three in Sepang.
The reigning world champion was the only man to lap under the two-minute barrier, posting a 1m59.580s in the final hour to end the rain-affected day a second clear of Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi.
Marc Marquez improved late on to finish up third on the timesheets on the 2016 Honda, ahead of Cal Crutchlow on the LCR satellite machine.
Casey Stoner – riding the 2015 Ducati for a second consecutive day – ended the test fifth fastest, ahead of Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.
Pramac riders Danilo Petrucci and Scott Redding sandwiched Andrea Iannone’s factory Ducati in eight, with Maverick Vinales completing the top 10 for Suzuki.
Eugene Laverty, who sat out the second day of running after a crash on Monday, was 22nd on his return for Aspar.
