Force India’s B-spec car delayed until British GP

Force India’s updated ‘B-spec’ car won’t hit the track until the British Grand Prix now, according to driver Sergio Perez.

The team were forced delay work on their 2015 car because of financial troubles, meaning a basic package was put together for the opening races of the season.

The Silverstone based team had hoped to introduce their upgraded car at the Monaco GP later this month, before confirming it would face a delay and not likely debut until the Austrian GP in June.

However Perez revealed on Thursday in Spain that a July debut is more likely following yet further problems.

“We are obviously pushing very hard back at the factory trying to bring the package together,” he said in the paddock.

“We would love to have it for Barcelona but that didn’t happen so I think Silverstone will be the first time we have a new package.”

With no upgrades this weekend, Perez says the team’s aim is to continue ‘damage limitation’.

“We have been lacking a lot of pace so the effort in the first four races has been pretty special considering where the basic pace of the car is,” he added.

“I think we have pretty much maximised the current car. We do not have any upgrades but some of the other teams are bringing upgrades.”
