Michael Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, has denied reports that the German’s life is no longer in danger, following such reports from a close friend.

Former F1 driver Philippe Strieff told reporters outside the hospital that Schumacher’s condition had improved significantly.

“I’m not a doctor, I’m repeating what [Doctor] Gerard Saillan told me.

“He said it is a serious condition but his life is not in danger anymore, thankfully.”

However the seven-time world champion’s manager issued a statement rubbishing the claims of Strieff and confirmed Schumacher’s condition remains “critical but stable”.

She also warned that only official announcements from herself, his family or the hospital should be believed.

“Michael’s condition remains critical but stable,” she said on Saturday.

“We would like to clearly stress that any information regarding Michael’s health not coming from the doctors treating him or from his management must be treated as invalid and pure speculation.

“The family cares only for Michael’s health.”

In addition, Kehm revealed that a helmet camera has been handed to the authorities.

“Michael’s helmet camera was voluntarily given to the investigating authorities by the family,” she added.

“That this should have been done against the wishes of the family is untrue. We ask you to respect the continued privacy of the family.

“In consultation with the doctor’s treating Michael, it is not expected that there will be any press conference before Monday.”
