Lewis Hamilton admits he’s not quick enough compared to team-mate Nico Rosberg, and the testing scandal won’t distract him in his efforts to improve.
The former-McLaren driver looked to have the measure of Rosberg in the opening races, but recently, the German has outqualified him by taking three consecutive poles and a race win in Monaco.
Hamilton admitted it was down to him to improve, rather than the team, and he won’t be drawn into the saga surrounding Pirelli’s secret tyre test.
“I’m not concerned about it, that’s for the team to worry about,” he said. “I just have to focus on myself and try and get my act together.
“I’ve got to step back, re-evaluate and move forward,” he added. “I’ve got lots to sort out on my side of the garage, and within myself, and I’ll take time to do that.
“I’m not quick enough, not on it enough, so I need to get on it.
“There’s not really much more to learn with the team or the car. There is just more for me to improve on.”
He currently holds fourth in the championship, just 45 points behind leader Sebastian Vettel and 15 ahead of Rosberg who sits sixth.
