Toro Rosso must find “significant improvements” next season according to team co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz.
The sister outfit of Red Bull Racing has failed to improve on its previous season in which it finished 8th scoring 41 points, whilst this season it only managed 9th with just 26 points.
Mateschitz understands the team has different goals to his championship winning team, but they must raise their game.
“Toro Rosso is still our rookie team and its goals differ from those of Red Bull Racing,” he told the FIA’s AUTO publication.
“But that’s not to say we’re happy with the development of the car. Significant improvements need to be found and are being called for,” he added.
The team has made several engineering changes including the hiring of James Key from Sauber who replaces Giorgio Ascanelli.
