Pastor Maldonado will start 24th and last after receiving a gearbox penalty after Williams confirmed it would need to change the unit prior to the race.
The Venezuelan managed to qualify 9th, but had earlier been handed a ten place grid drop for his contact with Sauber’s Sergio Perez during FP3, putting him 19th on the grid.
The second penalty, for five places, sees him drop to the very back of the grid, coincidentally just behind Perez who crashed during qualifying.
The damage to the gearbox was the result of Maldonado’s crash in final practice which resulted in a red flag when he clipped the right-side barrier at turn four before hitting the left-side barrier just moments later.
