Pirelli has confirmed the compounds it will bring to the next three races after China – Bahrain, Spain and Monaco.
The Bahrain GP will see the medium and soft tyre in use, the same compounds used in Australia and the upcoming Chinese GP.
The Spanish race in Barcelona will see the hard and soft compounds in action before the supersoft makes its debut in 2012 alongside the soft tyre in Monaco.
Paul Hembery, the company’s motorsport director, says the compound choices are designed at creating a variety of strategies.
“Our nominations this year are designed to push the envelope of performance, as can be seen from our latest choices,” he said.
“Only the super soft tyre is the same compound as last year: the other compounds are softer and therefore faster, designed to encourage closer racing as well as a wider variety of strategies.”
