The Williams outfit has confirmed that their title sponsor, US telecommunications giant AT&T, has ended its sponsorship of the team.
The F1 Times first reported the split on Monday, though at the time it hadn’t been confirmed by the team, until now.
“I can confirm that the team’s contract with AT&T reached its conclusion on 31st December 2011 and will not be renewed for the 2012 season,” a spokesperson for the team said.
It’s reported that Williams are in advanced talks with another telecommunications company to replace AT&T, whilst rumours that Qatar’s National Bank (QNB), which were close to signing a sponsor deal, remain interested.
