The French Grand Prix could be back on the calendar as early as 2013 if things fall into place, with a final decision expected in early-February, according to a delegate tasked with bringing the race back.
Gilles Dufeigneux, who met with Bernie Ecclestone earlier this year to discuss alternating the French GP with the Belgian, said “Things are moving in a very real way,” Nice-Matin quoted him as saying.
“All the indicators are green now, or soon will be. My current mood is summarised with three words: optimism, prudence, humility.
“We have entered the stage of completion and we can say that final decisions will be made very soon, in January or early February.”
The race is expected to return to Paul Ricard having last been held in 2008 at Magny-Cours.
