Martin Brundle has denied he has already signed a deal to join Sky next season, despite a report in the Telegraph claiming the deal is done.
The British newspaper reported that the former F1 driver, who has commented on the sport since 1997 with ITV and the BBC, had agreed a £1 million deal to join the subscription broadcaster next season, following a shared broadcast deal between it and the BBC.
Whilst he confirmed offers had been received from both sides, Brundle says he hasn’t decided his future yet.
“Telegraph was wrong. I didn’t sign [a] £1m Sky contract today,” he said on Monday.
“Calmly working through it, will end up doing what satisfies me most professionally.”
The newspaper also claimed that 5Live commentator, David Croft, had agreed to partner Brundle in the commentary box, but he too denied the report.
“Lots of tweets today following the story in the Telegraph,” he wrote on Twitter. “Honestly folks, I’ve nothing to tell you but thanks for the comments, all of them.”
