Timo Glock says the Virgin outfit is already benefiting from the recently announced McLaren technical partnership.
The German driver recently completed a stint in the advanced simulator based in Woking and says the benefits are already filtering through to the MVR-02, but the results aren’t obvious as their main rival, Team Lotus, has made similar gains.
“My feeling is that we have definitely improved,” the 29-year-old told Auto Motor und Sport. “It can’t be easily seen because Lotus have also made improvements which have equalised our step. But the data has confirmed what I have felt in the car.”
Glock added that the focus was already on next years challenger, which is when the full effects of the McLaren deal will really be felt.
“There was a little delay but we have caught up now. We went to Korea with new setup directions, since we have nothing to win or to lose. Now we can afford to do some development work for next year.”
