Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo expects more wins from Ferrari to add to their sole victory at the British Grand Prix almost a month ago.
That win came from a dominant Fernando Alonso who led the field for much of the race, but he has been unable to replicate it since, despite coming close on two occasions.
Montezemolo says the Italian outfit remain motivated and very determined for the second part of the season which kicks off in four weeks.
“I can see the right spirit in the team after a very difficult start to the season,” he told the official Ferrari website. “Domenicali and his crew seem very determined, concentrating fully on their tasks for the second part of the year which I am sure will feature Ferrari in the role of a key player.
“I expect we will pick up wins to add to the important and historically very significant victory achieved at Silverstone.”
Montezemolo also met with team principal Stefano Domenicali, Pat Fry and Luca Marmorini to discuss the upcoming 2012 challenger and the state of Formula 1, which he revealed was at a “delicate phase.”
“There is no doubt the sport is approaching a delicate phase, featuring important deadlines and new horizons. Ferrari will be keen to look in depth at certain issues in the most appropriate way, aware of its historically central role in the world of motor sport.”
