FP3: Vettel charges to the front in Hungary

Sebastian Vettel returned to the top of the times to start his fight back to the front following a disappointing Friday which saw his mechanics break the team curfew in order to make changes.

Fernando Alonso finished three-tenths behind having lapped quite consistently at the front. The Spaniard led Jenson Button by another tenth with the second Red Bull of Mark Webber the tiniest of margins behind.

Felipe Massa and Nico Rosberg slotted in ahead of Lewis Hamilton who had led both FP1 and FP2, but struggled on the super-soft tyre, though the fuel levels remain unclear.

Once again, the session was an undramatic one with only a few errors, particularly at the chicane which many drivers blamed on the wind direction.

At the rear of the grid, four drivers, both the Virgin cars and HRT’s look unlikely to make the 107% qualifying rule if the top teams see the need to use the super-soft tyre during Q1.
