Mark Webber will start on pole position for the third time this season having set a blistering lap of 1:30.079.

The big news however is the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton was just +0.055 behind and will start second ahead of Sebastian Vettel who didn’t quite have the pace to challenge for pole.

Fernando Alonso will start fourth ahead of his teammate and Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes.

Kamui Kobayashi was the shock loser having dropped out in Q3 alongside the usual suspects of Heikki Kovalainen, Timo Glock, Karun Chandhok, Jerome d’Ambrosio, Daniel Ricciardo and Vitantonio Liuzzi, who will start last after a gearbox change.
