The FIA has chosen to penalise Lewis Hamilton with an after race time penalty of 20 seconds, the equivalent of a drive-through penalty, for his collision with Pastor Maldonado.
The incident happened with just a few laps left, following a racing re-start after an incident involving Adrian Sutil, Jaime Alguerusari, Hamilton and Vitaly Petrov on lap 72 of 78.
The penalty doesn’t change the result, as Hamilton was the last driver not to be lapped by the leaders.
Kamui Kobayashi was given a reprimand for his collision with Adrian Sutil at turn five, which caused damage to the Force India’s rear.
