Pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix will swap to the right side of the track, rather than the left, as it has been since the races introduction.
It has been agreed by the FIA that pole position will switch sides after drivers complained about the rubber marbles on the odd side, discarded by the Pirelli tyres.
Whilst the track will be cleaned before the race start, the line is considered ‘dirtier’ than the right and only offers a marginally worse entry into turn one than the original position.
