Bernie Ecclestone has changed his tune in regards to the new teams which entered the sport at the start of the 2010 season.
Earlier this year, the 80-year-old remarked that the three newcomers were an ’embarrassment’ to the sport and that F1 needed to rid itself of those ‘cripples’.
Just months later though, Ecclestone has removed the blame from their shoulders and instead blamed ex-FIA president Max Mosley for the issues they’ve experienced.
“As for the new teams, their problems weren’t their fault in all fairness. It was really Max Mosley’s fault, telling them they could come in and be contenders for £30 million.
“But they’re here now and, provided they don’t walk around with begging bowls, it is good to have them,” he said in a foreword to the official 2010 season review.
