Sebastian Vettel has come out in defense of his own driving after the press heavily criticised him following his accidents in Turkey and Belgium.
Martin Whitmarsh went as far as to label the German the ‘crash kid’ which led to Vettel using Lewis Hamilton as an example of why he’s made just as many mistakes.
“I’m not the only one who makes mistakes,” he told the Telegraph. “And I don’t feel I’m making any more than anyone else, even if it is being pushed in that direction.
“I could go out and say Lewis ****** up in Spa, going into the gravel, and was lucky to get away with it. I could say he made a big mistake in Monza, where he retired on the opening lap. That might help to change the picture in the press. But it is not the way I do things,” he said.
“For me the key is to move on, not be affected too much by what is said or what is written, and learn from your mistakes.
“How many mistakes have I made this year? Probably two. And if I make a mistake you can be sure I am harder on myself than anyone else.”
