Lewis Hamilton set the quickest time of the weekend putting him top in final practice for the Italian GP.
The non-F-duct McLaren driven by Hamilton set a late lap to charge to the top ahead of Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull.
The Ferrari drivers of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa secured third and fourth putting them firmly in the fight for pole position come qualifying.
The second McLaren of Jenson Button finished two tenths off his team-mates pace despite leading for much of the session.
Nico Rosberg finished sixth whilst his team-mate, Michael Schumacher, couldn’t manage better than 13th.
Mark Webber’s weekend didn’t go to plan after he suffered an early exit when his RB6 lost power into the first chicane. This is his second mechanical failure in two of the three practice sessions.
