Ferrari have confirmed that Pat Fry will join the team at the start of July this year, occupying the role of assistant technical director.

We reported that Fry, 46, left McLaren in May with his next employer unknown, however Italian media reported that Ferrari had signed the Brit earlier this week.

Ferrari refused to comment when contacted by The F1 Times, however they have today confirmed the speculation.

Fry will report directly to Aldo Costa, Ferrari’s technical director. The remainder of the technical department will remain unchanged.
