Mercedes GP have yet to officially submit their appeal regarding Schumacher’s over-take on Alonso to the FIA.
A decision by race stewards resulted in Schumacher being handed a 20-second penalty following the final-corner move, ultimately dropping German down to 12th place and out of the points.
Mercedes’ initial reaction was to appeal the decision after they firmly believed that Schmi was allowed to overtake after the first safety car line, however, no official appeal has been received by sport’s governing body as of yet.
It now appears that the Brackley-based squad, headed by Ross Brawn, are uncertain whether they are in a position to submit an appeal.
“No decision has been taken as yet,” a spokeswoman admitted. The team only have until 5pm (BST) on Tuesday to log their appeal.
