Mark Webber has described this Sunday as ‘one of the greatest days of his life’ after managing to take victory in the Monaco GP.
Webber took a storming pole position which he converted into his second consecutive win adding another 25 points to move him into first place, just ahead of his teammate on wins.
“Absolutely incredible and for sure one of the greatest days of my life today,” said Webber. “To win here was very special, it started yesterday with qualifying when it went well but here it is such a test for two hours.
“I had a lot of work to do, the track changed a lot, backmarkers and lot of safety cars – getting restarts and tyre pressures right – all the basics that could test you, were in front of you today.
“It is amazing – to join Ayrton Senna and those guys (as a winner) around here is great.”
Webber went on to celebrate in style by doing a backflip into the Red Bull swimming pool atop their flash motorhome parked by the Monaco marina – which he later ended up taking a dip in with Vettel.
